About Envirolast
Envirolast Structures assembles and installs structural concrete insulated panels (SCIP's) under license from Met-Rock, LLC. This wall system was designed and patented by the Jim Farrell of Blastcrete Equipment Company and Met-Rock, LLC of Anniston, Alabama. Blastcrete and Met-Rock have over 20 years of shotcrete machine fabrication experience and have designed the wall system from a shotcrete contractor's viewpoint. This viewpoint is evident in the many timesaving, proprietary built-in assembly aids that also provide quality-assurance. The Blastcrete and Met-Rock team plays a strong supporting role in Envirolast's endeavors to bring this system successfully to the market in the Southeast.
The CEO and COO of Envirolast have lived in Europe and Mexico where hard wall building methods are preferred. We stay abreast of building technologies and methods both in the US and elsewhere. We are strong supporters of sustainable building methods, New Urbanist design principles and Green Building. Having fallen in love with European massive wall construction, we searched for the best hard wall construction method and thoroughly investigated ICF's, cast walls systems, autoclave aireated block, other panelized systems such as SIPs and the data showed sandwiched concrete wall construction was both the strongest and most energy efficient system known. That is why we choose to pioneer the Envirolast System in North America.
Envirolast has engineered vast efficiencies in our construction processes. Our shotcrete machine is designed specifically for the application of structural concrete and a variety of finishes, both to the interior and exterior walls, roof and floors. We are also a completely mobile operation. All of our equipment and crews mobilize to anywhere in the world. Using the proven processes, we also can use local resources such as labor, materials and services.
Envirolast Structures is revolutionizing residential and light commercial construction methods by providing exceptionally strong, durable and energy efficient walls made of SCIP's. SCIP's consist of an EPS foam core of any desired thickness from 2- to 10-inches flanked by 14-gauge galvanized steel mesh on both sides and covered in structural concrete.
